Join with community on Sunday, December 21 from 3:30pm to 5:30pm for a Midwinter Celebration, a neighborhood walk filled with light, song, poetry, and shared warmth. We’ll start at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, move together through the heart of Longfellow, I will lead some singing somewhere in there… and end at Moon Palace Books & Pangea World Theater for warm drinks and connection. It’s a moment to slow down, be outside together, and feel the season in a new way.
At Powderhorn Park, on the south side near the lake
I will lead simple songs to welcome in the solstice! Free community event, all are welcome.
~ Optional: Bring a candle (in a wind-sheltering holder) or a lantern ~
HOBT is partnering with several Twin Cities organizations and artists to bring warmth and light to the shortest day of the year. On December 20th we'll gather from 6-9 pm, meeting at the Powderhorn Park Rec Center, and have a magical walk through the park together. I will lead singing in the park somewhere during that! Leading up to the event there will be community lantern workshops where you can make your own lantern puppet!
All events are free, open to the public, and for all ages!
I’m teaming up with the rad organizers of “Poetry and Pie” for a winter solstice event combining poetry, song, hot beverages, and togetherness outdoors in the magic of winter. YAY!

Come sing at the home of Minneapolis' new folk school, the Center for People and Craft! I’ll lead folks (some of whom will have just done the lantern-making workshop) in an hour of all-abilities community singing. In the darkest time of the year, this gathering emphasizes community belonging, handcraft, and song as avenues for creating light and joy.

6-7pm Solstice Sing - no need to RSVP, just show up - BYO lantern if you have one!
