Minneapolis-based artist, musician and educator, Sarina Partridge finds inspiration everywhere.
As a visual artist, Sarina’s work bursts with whimsical color and movement. She works primarily in chalk, oil pastel and watercolor - playing with how these media allow color to flow, smudge and move. Sarina specializes in custom portraiture and landscapes, and has been commissioned to design invitations and posters for events, and album-cover artwork.
As a musician, Sarina’s primary instrument is the voice, although she also plays banjo and ukulele. She has studied ethnic vocal music with folk musicians in Corsica and the Republic of Georgia, and has toured with the professional world ethnic music teaching/performing ensemble Northern Harmony. She currently performs in the Twin Cities with her vocal trio, The Hummingbirds; with Mila Vocal Ensemble, an Eastern European-focused women’s vocal group; and in many community singing events.
As a photographer, Sarina is especially drawn to capturing the joy and life of families and kids. Her photographic style is warm, vivid, unposed and nature-infused.
All of these pursuits have been “on-the-side” pursuits for Sarina for quite some time; she has been a full-time classroom teacher for the past seven years at a Waldorf school in Minneapolis. Stepping away from teaching, Sarina is stepping fully into her creative pursuits. Here we go!
